English term or phrase: inducement
Hi there,

Does any English-French translator out there know the French equivalent of the term 'inducement' as used in social science research? This is a practice that consists in giving or promising a 'present' to research participants, especially in clinical trials, in order to encourage(induce) them into participating in the trial. E.g.: "An inducement is an inducement, whether due or undue. It is unethical to enrol participants in a clinical trial by giving them an inducement, instead of seeking their informed consent."

compensation ou rémunération

Explanation:
Etant donné qu'il ne s'agit pas à proprement parler d'un 'salaire', et que les sommes sont relativement faibles, compensation semble adéquat. Il est relativement souvent employé à en juger par le net.

Example sentence(s):
  • Un volontaire sain reçoit, en moyenne, une compensation d'environ 150 euros

Notes to answerer
Asker: Salut Layla et merci. Je crois qu'on va se fier à la fréquence d'utilisation pour choisir un terme. J'ai souvent vu et employé 'frais' comme dans "frais des discussions de groupe" dans le cadre des recherche en sciences sociales. Mais en essais cliniques, ça ne marche pas!
