Focus 15:07 Nov 22, 2010
No abnormal area. In a physical exam he could be referring to an abnormal sound or an area of dullness to percussion. I don't like the term "lesion" which is usually something which is seen.
In an exam of the lungs, one usually mentions the breath sounds, the results of percussion and perhaps the chest wall motion. I wonder if the author was referring to an area of dullness, but that is just speculation.
Also the focus is not necessarily infection. Doctors also look for pneumothorax, tumors, etc. |
