These low necklines - amongst a list of fashion "details" (the little decorative extras) - have me stumped! What can "magistraux ou rigoureux" mean in the context of the necklines of upmarket swimsuits? (onepiece or two-piece).

thanks so much everybody for helping with this tricky question. The client accepted "plunging or unadorned low necklines". As far as I'm concerned, the jury is still out regarding "rigoureux" here, so for the time being I'm removing that for the sake of the Glossary. In any case, I now wonder if this should have been 2 separate questions...

agree  Imanol: May be vertiginous necklines, or something like that, would be better. "Décolleté plongeant" is a fairly common expression in French, which is not the case for "décolleté magistral".

Asker: thanks so much Gail, not only for kick-starting the process, but also for that lovely link! And "revealing" would have been perfect, but somehow "plunging" seems to fit the register better with very upmarket (and incredibly expensive!) swimwear
