I'm a bit confused what language are we translating from? If it comes from American University why is it in Russian? If it's already translated from AE surely it's best, as Rachel suggests, to look up its original name.
However, if you are translating original Russian name you can't drop the "technology" part of it. It does have meaning as follows:
- engineering deals with the way thing are, how they are constructed internally, what makes them work, how to design them; - technology (in this context) deals with processes to produce those things, to manufacture them, how to design not the things themselves but the processes for making them.
