A collar sling is probably a rope sling with two soft eyes (`maus`) at each end, you would not put a thimble (sapatilha) into the eye of a rope collar sling. Collar slings are also often protetced,( by using the old method of "worm and parcel with the lay, turn and serve the other way"), or sometimes, just the soft eyes (`maus`) are protected or padded. |
