Si parla di un "pipe bending apparatus", riporto la frase, si tratta di un brevetto: "said bending member comprises a stiffback for supporting the pipe, said stiffback being movable with respect to said pin-up shoe". Ho già postato una domanda, e "stiffback" secondo le indicazione della persona che mi ha risposto, esperta in quest'area, significa supporto rigido. Ora chiedo aiuto anche per l'altro termine, introvabile come preannunciato! "First, the stiffback is raised to bring the pipe just to the point of contact with the bending die. This is called the ’level’ or ’zero’ position. The pin-up shoe is then brought up to support the free end of the pipe."

Non so bene come renderlo in italiano, ma l'idea e questa: il "shoe" e la parte finale del tubo, una sorte di protuberanza che puo funzionare come un blocco per evitare che scivoli. Pin-up vuol dire tipo vite, quindi la fine di un tubo viene conessa al seguente pezzo di tubo come una vite. Guarda il link sotto.

Il shoe e un parte del tubo che serve di blocco blocco e quindi puo funzionare come supporto per quel tubo specifico. Ogni tubo a un shoe.
Lo stiffback invece e indipendente, supporta qualsiasi tubo.
Cosi lo capisco io. Ma magari hai qualche foto o disegno?

Asker: All'interno del testo ad un certo punto ho trovato questo: "a support member juxtaposed near a first end of the bending die and being movable with respect to said bending die for supporting a portion of a pipe". Qui sta parlando del pin-up shoe. Invece qui: "a bending member juxtaposed near a second end of the bending die and being movable with respect to said bending die for bending a pipe around the bending die" sta parlando dello stiffback. A questo punto "elemento di supporto" sembra essere più il primo del secondo...non capisco più niente! Grazie mille per l'aiuto, penso che questo testo farebbe impazzire chiunque.
