sailing dinghy

Explanation:
That is what I would call a boat of this kind. Spent much of my young days messing about in them, and I don't think we'd call it anything else.

"day-tripper", "day-trip sailing dinghy" perhaps, to get across the fact that it has no cabin and you won't be staying overnight. But the problem information is kind-of understood...

the problem is that information...

Also, if I saw it called something like that, I would think it a bit odd. And I think forcing in a translation for the 'de randonnée' bit is always going to pose that problem ;-)

Asker: You're quite right, it is a sailing dinghy, but I was trying to come up with some way of getting across the "de randonnée" bit

Asker: thanks for your help Gilla

agree  Clive Phillips: On reflection, "daysailing dinghy" is perhaps more precise than "cruising dinghy". http://www.answers.com/topic/cruising-maritime

Explanation:
an idea - can't think of anything in English that gets closer to the 'randonner/balader' idea that you probably want to get across.

Or
"excursion(al) dinghy"

"This ranges from inflatable excursion dinghy (a few seats) to cruise ships of over 1000 passengers (CFORT, 2000)."
