Si parla di un "pipe bending apparatus", riporto la frase, si tratta di una delle rivendicazioni di un brevetto:
"said bending member comprises a stiffback for supporting the pipe, said stiffback being movable with respect to said pin-up shoe". Da altre parti del testo sembrerebbe che sia "stiffback" che "pin-up shoe" siano parti di una macchina curvatubi. Non riesco però a trovare traduzioni in italiano di questi termini tecnici.

Non trovi traduzioni perche sicuramente non ce ne sono... Molti termini dell' oil industry non vengono tradotti, sono dei termini moderni e non ci sono traduzioni standarizzate.
Questo stiffback e un supporto per il pipe, un pezzo rigido che lo sostiene fermo mentre la macchina lo curva. Quindi, io tradurrei come sugerisco sopra.

Asker: grazie mille. Per caso c'è qualche sito di riferimento da consultare? Sono all'inizio del documento e oltre a stiffback pernso che chiederò aiuto anche per pin-up shoe. Di questo passo finirò per natale!
