I'm only really concerned with the "petits maraîchers", as I'm sure you already have your own ideas about expressing the first part of the sentence.

I was going to post "market gardeners", but realised that this is specifically for plant produce, and you may well need to encompass other local produce (honey, cream, cheese, local meat...) in your term.

But if you're looking at simply vegetable produce, then "market gardeners" could work well here
