Hi, actually Beppe, if I may, I think it is possible to say "e' il momento di dire addio" in Italian. I would like to point out though, that it would be like you were reminding yourself 'it is time to say goodbye'(= kind of like an inner voice was speaking) to that person, perhaps you were not feeling at ease with the situation, per se. Rephrasing, 'It's time for you to - leave/say goodbye to - that person... I agree with you on the other options, they do sound good (better, probably..). Indeed the context is very important, and it depends on whether the 'goodbye' is simply goodbye or it is farewell. There are a lot of subtleties and sometimes in a more informal situation you can have 'ora' di salutarci (I wouldn't mix ora with 'di dire addio'). |
