graduate programme Explanation: a possibility -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 44 mins (2010-09-29 10:19:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I have always had problems with these terms, probably because they are used differently across different countries and institutions. The way I understand it, a graduate programme is for bachelors taking their master degree. A post-graduate programme is for masters taking a PhD. But, I am still very uncertain about this, so I would welcome any clarification. |

thesis process Explanation: In Canada, this is the common term I have heard used the most by anybody ranging from former colleagues or family members who were also Master's students themselves. I know it may sound like an obvious choice, but truly it is the only one I can think of. Generally speaking, a dissertation applies more to a PhD-project over here - at least in my experience. It could very well, though - as so often before - come down to cultural-specific differences. Reference: http://graduatestudies.lakeheadu.ca/final-thesis-process-mas... |

specialisation course / programme Explanation: According to the dictionary below, + second reference (and a few other articles from Danish academic departments). The specialeforløb is done at the end of a Masters program. The student chooses the topic for the specialisation course and, based upon the specialisation studies, writes a thesis for a Master degree. Example sentence(s):
