"The Master of Ceremonies is responsible for the perfect flow of operations of the wedding day. From the seating of the guests to sound checks and toasting the birde and groom, this will be a busy day for the MC.

Some of the duties of a master of ceremonies include performing the final sound check, this should be done prior to the guests arriving. Another is showing the guests to the open bar or drink area.

The Master of ceremonies should be sure that any special guests or VIP’s are escorted to their tables. They are responsible for a welcoming speech or toast and for announcing the serving of the meal.

After the meal, they are responsible for the introduction of the members of the bridal table to the rest of the guests. Usually the Master of Ceremonies toasts the bride and groom.

Care should be taken that this is an appropriate toast, insulting the bride, groom or guests is not a good idea.

The Master of Ceremonies wedding guide also includes the announcement of changes in reception menus, the cutting of the wedding cake, and the announcement of the bride and grooms first dance.

Mostly the job of the Master of Ceremonies is to make this day run a smoothly as possible so the bride and groom can enjoy themselves and the guests. It is an important part of the wedding and one should feel honored that they were asked to perform such an important roll.
