The term "putting up" is clear enough, but it helps to have a clear picture of the situation, just in case the term is used in a slightly different sense (due to ignorance of its meaning, or because the writer could not think of a more appropriate term, or for any other reason). For example, we have no idea what "the change" means or what "letting go" refers to. What is this "change"? And who are the "others"?
