My translation:

En algunos proyectos "se ha considerado de forma deliberada" la manera en qué la fuente de agua puede evitar la exposición de las mujeres y niñas de ser agredidas en el camino para obtener el agua. Se tomó en cuenta de forma deliberada la protección de las mujeres y niñas.

Yo lo traduciría así, ya que creo que suena más natural (si se ha tenido en cuenta, ya se da por hecho que ha sido conscientemente). En todo caso, si quieres enfatizar, yo utilizaría "se ha prestado especial atención a..."

Yo lo diría así, y para el resto de la frase adoptaría, sin duda, la traducción que sugiere teju.
- En la versión que propones, el "que" de "la manera en que" no debe llevar tilde.
- "la exposición de ser agredidas" es incorrecto.
- "en el camino para obtener el agua" es un calco del inglés demasiado literal.

As is the English text is missing 'been' as in it has been consciously considered'. Also the inclusion of 'location' ...in the 'location' of the source of water..., would have made the sentence clearer.
