Government-Owned Corporation / Government Business Enterprise Explanation: An entidade pública empresarial (EPE in Portugal) is an entity of public law, as opposed to private or civil law entities. Therefore, I'd use the addition government in it, as in English "public company" means publicly traded company, but NOT an entity governed by public law. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 19 mins (2010-08-21 10:30:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- If you want to you "public" in it, then PUBLIC ENTERPRISE might be an option: http://www.capdm.com/demos/gi/gi/GI0802.html Reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government-owned_corporation |
