The term 'wilayah jabatan' has already been translated in KudoZ and is in the glossary as 'jurisdiction' (See http://ind.proz.com/kudoz/indonesian_to_english/law_general/... However, in Sriro's Desk Reference of Indonesian Law (see web reference 2 below), it is translated as 'territory of post'. While I recognise Sriro as authoritative, his literal translation of 'wilayah jabatan' as 'territory of post' is cumbersome and unidiomatic, although grammatically correct. I prefer 'jurisdiction'.

I have not seen a document where a notary has detailed his/her jurisdiction, only the city or regency in which s/he is based. I have recently translated a certification by Idris Barus, SH, Notaris di Medan as "Idris Barus, Bachelor of Law, Notary in Medan".
