Explanation of my peer comment on Cecilia's answer 15:54 Jul 6, 2010
The original text expresses more or less the same concept, first negatively, then positively: NEGATIVE--"Nothing else fitted..." POSITIVE--"She was a perfect match." Cecilia's translation is nicely expressed, but she has switched to a POSITIVE version of the concept, which will create a problem in translating the following sentence. Also, an important element has been omitted: Sure, we know that Eve was exactly right for him, but we have lost the assertion that NO ONE ELSE and NOTHING ELSE would do. As I tried to say in limited space below, if I'm hungry, I may feel that a pizza is just what I need. However, if someone offers me fish and chips, I may be easily diverted and equally satisfied. That was not the case with Adam, for whom "ninguna otra cosa," as Leonardo words it, could meet his needs.
