La remoción de encofrados (deslizantes o no) de los pozos, deberá hacerse cuando la resistencia del hormigón sea tal que se evite la formación de fisuras,grietas, descascaramiento o ruptura de aristas. Toda imperfección será inmediatamente reparada.

Traducción:
The removal of formworks (sliding or not) in shafts shall be made when concrete strength is such that fissures, cracking, spalling, or edges breaking are prevented. Any flaw shall be immediately prevented.

The mere fact that someone confirmed that 'shall' is correct does not imply that anyone had said it was incorrect. It merely reflects the fact that the use of 'shall' in this context had become a topic of debate - as a result, perhaps, of a suggestion that 'shall' might not be appropriate here.

In Europe, the use of 'shall' is correct, and often preferred by clients, in this type of prescriptive text.

I'm afraid your link states that the page is not found, Lydianette. However, "shall" is so much more used in US English than in UK English in this type of text, but it wasn't really the main point of my input.

Dear Margaret:

Thank you for your input, however, with all due respect, Shall is preferred when it comes to technical specifications, which to some extent are legal documents.

Also, I wouldn't use the term "shall" in a technical text. It tends to be used in legal or very formal texts. "Will" is still 100% correct and valid.

If you don't mind my saying so, it sounds a tiny bit literal. How about: "The formwork (sliding or not) in shafts must be removed when the resistance of the concrete is such that the forming of fissures, cracks, flaking or edges breaking is prevented. Any flaws will be repaired immediately."

I got "flaking" from the Spanish-English glossary of geoscience terms: books.google.es/books?isbn=9056995618...
