S'il ne s'agit pas d'un ustensile électrique. Sinon, lorsque c'est électrique, on parle effectivement de mixeur-plongeur ou bien, peut-être plus communément, de girafe.

S'il s'agit du chef bi-étoilé, il y a des chances que ce soit un ustensile simple (non électrique), car il est bien connu que la purée et nettement meilleure lorsque les pommes de terre sont écrasées à la fourchette ou au presse-purée.
