I am daring to override what it actually says, since mesclun isn't normally just lettuce, but other leaves as well. And since you didn't spot it, I am presuming that the British audience is not familiar with the term mesclun.

I remember this available in Paris by weight in open baskets - far more attractive than the plastic bagged variety and I definitely echo Gilla's mention of growing your own!
