English term or phrase: download queue
I am looking for the Swedish term for "download queue".
However, I must confess that I am not sure if the the English term is correct in my context.

Download queque seems to be the order of the files for download (in a download manager). I am looking for the Swedish term used to speak about the queue one have to "stay in" before download can begin.

This is used on filesharing websites, especially if you are a 'free user', when after pressing the download button a countdown appears and you are forced to wait, or when you have exceeded the download limit for your 'non-paying' IP and have to wait even longer.

Sorry for such vague explonation. The problem is that I am translating from Russian into Swedish.

TIA!

väntetid innan nedladdning/hämtning
Explanation:
If I understand your explanation correct you are referring to something that isn't actually a queue, it is a penalty waiting time that free users have to endure before they can download a file.
Have a look at Megaupload.com, they have a Swedish page and they refer to is as "Väntetid innan varje nedladdning påbörjas".

nedladdningskö

I would definitely call it that, but it's not my best speciality field.

Talked to a friend who's more into this, and it seems this term may be misinterpreted. This word is more the queue that you create yourself if you have marked for example 10 files to download and only let yourself download five at the time, so as not to overload your broadband. He didn't know any Swedish term at all :-(

In many cases I find "hämta" a better word to use than "nedladda" for "download", when translating into Swedish. It is simply a more straight forward word, easier to read and means the same thing.

If you can provide me with more feedback, or examples, I can try to come up with other ways of saying it in Swedish.

Hope it helps.

I think am I starting to understand, just a little bit, the issues you are coming up against Viachaslau.

If one is using Swedish Google:

hämtningshastighet gives 57,500 hits.

nedladdningshastighet gives 42,500 hits.

At this point either one looks good and if one has other preferences, like simplicity, that could make the difference.

However, turning again to Swedish Google:

hämtningskö gives 5 hits.

nedladdningskö gives 18,600 hits.

It is puzzling, and for me hard to understand, so I can see your problem.

For right now it seems like you are stuck with "nedladdningskö", even though both of us, perhaps, would appreciate an alternative.

I will try to think some more about it. Thanks for the feedback.

For consistency, I would stick with the same translation of "download" throughout, i.e. if you choose "nedladdningskö", you should probably choose "nedladdningshastighet", etc.

Asker: Yes, Ingemar. I was inclined to use hämta, and I did so, but then I came across with 'download speed', which I rendered as nedladdningshastighet and changed 'hämta' to ladda ner. I shouldn't have?

Asker: Ingemar, thank you very much for your help. I use google.se myself. hämtningshastighet is almost never used. Click on page 3 of google search for hämtningshastiget and you will see what I mean. Thank you once again!

Asker: Thank you, Ingemar!
