the whole building looks spanking new

Explanation:
spanking
adverb
Used as an intensive: a spanking clean shirt.
http://www.thefreedictionary.com/spanking

I thought of "spanking" because it also sounds like "sparkling".

the whole building now looks resplendent after its refurbishment.

Explanation:
Volkswagen - the first few lines say that the hotel had had a facelift (lifting) in the spring and that the rooms had been given a "coat of white paint".

Explanation:
I think that anything too literal here will result in stilted English.

Suerte.

-> Thank you, Neil. My thoughts exactly. I agree that the original is overblown, but I don't think this is a case where the translator has to slavishly produce stilted English in the supposed interest of accuracy.

Asker: Hello George! Thank you very much for your suggestion! It's a bit literal or figurative because of the verb "exude". Please, can you send me your e-mail address? I need a correction of another translation. Receive my best regards
