"Erarbeitung von Sollkonzeptionen auf der Basis von Problemanalysen bei Kunden."

From a "Zwischenzeugnis" (which I think is an interim report, though I'm wondering if it's a testimonial of some kind). Describing one of the functions that the subject of the report does as part of his job. The guy is a SAP consultant.

I have tried but failed to find a translation for "Sollkonzeption". I suppose it's something like "nominal concept" or "target concept", but I really don't know. Hoping someone here who has some knowledge of corporate-speak will be able to provide a clearcut translation. TIA for your help.

Thanks Susan. That's good enough for me. Interesting about the "Sollkonzept" reference. I didn't find it, because I only did a search for "Sollkonzeption", which hadn't been asked before.

Saskia, if you look at your Collins dictionary a little more closely, you'll see that "Soll" can mean "target" as well as "debit". When you mentioned the Collins, I thought perhaps you had an edition with an entry for "Sollkonzeption" itself, which is why I asked for more info. "Debit" is not right in this context, but thanks anyway.

I strongly suspected "target concept", but wondered if there mightn't be some specific SAP term. But it looks like "target concept" is OK here. So thank you very much Susan - appreciate your help.
