This popped up in a corporate governance text and I'm having difficulties phrasing it. The paragraph is about the members of the Board of Management.

I haven't been happy with any of my attempts which have looked something like this:

They represent one another with regard to management of their respective divisions.

And that's horrible, I know. Somehow I'm just at a loss to find the right words. Represent, substitute, serve as deputy or proxy?

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might be willing to share!

Note that the parts in parentheses are either options or, in the case of those preceded by "or," alternatives.
