Explanation:
prong = tand en plug is stekker

In het Nederlands is tandstekker natuurlijk overbodig, maar plug is veel meer dan stekker, dus daar heeft de toevoeging prong wel zin

ik zie wel dat je het woord stop ook kunt gebruiken.

stop: eindstuk van een snoer of andere geleiding voor elektrische stroom, moet stiften die in openingen in een ander eindstuk of een contactdoos worden gestoken; synoniem: stekker, zekering

ook contactstop schijnt mogelijk
contactstop: stroomontvangend deel van een stopcontact, bestemd voor bevestiging aan een buigzame leiding of deel uitmakend van een toestel.


Stekker is echter verreweg het meest geangbaar, zover ik weet
