French term or phrase: droits politiques
My text is the 'règlement d'ordre intérieur' of a university's new research institute. This is in the Préambule. Probably a silly question but 'political rights' seems inappropriate, and 'policy rights' clumsy. Any thoughts?

agree  Claire Nolan: But technically, political rights include citizenship as well as the right to vote or to stand for election. The former is not relevant in your context.

rights of representation

Explanation:
I think this would fit the context. It could be rights to be elected to, or vote for the works committee or similar.

Well, perhaps not "works committee" - more like the University (Staff) Council...
