These letters appear before the name of a hospital department: DE-M CHIRURGIA TORACICA.

I found a long list of hospital department names preceded by these letters in a document from the Servizio Sanitario Regionale Emilia-Romagna, at the Ospedale Maggiore: DE-M GERIATRIA, DE-M NEUROLOGIA, DE-M ORTOPEDIA DONNE, etc. (Sometimes this list says DH-M followed by the name of a department).

What is this abbreviation saying in Italian, and - in case it's not obvious - how would we say it in English?
