Thanks to all so far - I am new to Proz and new to technical translation so very much getting to grips with things.
As mediamatrix suggests dispositif can have many meanings and, as far as I can understand, in the first case refers to the production plan as a whole and not just the equipment itself. I like the word "facility" to describe pieces of equipment though, for example:
le dispositif de base est:
as
"the basic facility is"
It seems to very much depend on context. Many thanks for your help! |
