French term or phrase: inventaire raisonné
In the text, this expression appears to be the equivalent of "catalogue raisonné" in the fine arts, which is not translated in English. Does anyone know if "inventaire raisonné" is translated or just left as is as in the fine arts world?
Thanks.

I think that the following use of the term in French is reasonably equivalent to its use in the last couple of references I gave in English.

Thanks to all for your help!

I'm going with detailed inventory as the least likely to be wrong and the most descriptive of the actual process, plus the references are close to the context I'm working in (literary genetics). But I can't find any real references to back it up.

systematic inventory

Explanation:
I have seen "reasoned inventory" before, but only in the EN translation of FR texts, so would be cautious. On the other hand, I have come across this term where the FR term is "inventaire raisonne"

Explanation:
I'm not sure which noun you need, because it's unclear what is being listed. "Raisonné" is best rendered by "annotated." "Inventory" is possible in some cases, but is generally a commercial term.

neutral  writeaway: of course a 'detailed inventory' exists in English but I'm not so sure this is a valid translation of raisonné. do you have any refs to back it?
