Sistemi i tendosjes apo mbajtjes poshtë të bumit - Boom vang (SHBA) ose kicking strap (MB) është një sistem litarësh ose pistonash tek jahtet apo varkat me vela i cili tendos apo mban poshtë bumin/shkopin e gjatë që përdoret për të shtrirë fundin e velës.

Explanation:
Boom vang ose kicking strap njihet edhe si martingale. Termin "Kicking strap" e gjeta në fjalorin Anglisht-Shqip të termave të sportit 1987 Shtëpia Botuese e librit shkollor si "litar për tërheqje velash". Pasi u konsultova me një profesionist të garave me jahte ai më shpjegoi se nuk është thjesht litar por në të shumtën e rasteve një sistem rripash, litarësh, pistonash etj., cili tendos (mban) për nga poshtë bumin (boom). Bum (boom) gjendet si term si në fjalorin sportiv ashtu dhe në fjalorin elektronik shpjegues të shqipes.
Nga ana tjetër termi "martingale" gjendet në fjalorin Shqip-Anglisht të Oxfordit (shih pjesën e shqipes këtu) http://www.websters-online-dictionary.org/ma/martingale.html... si "rrip freri" por ky term i përket kuptimit të parë të fjalës të përdorur për frerin e kalit.

Së fundi, nuk munda të gjej shembuj në shqip mbase pasi varkat me vela - jahtet- kanë qenë gati të panjohura deri në këto vitet e fundit në Shqipëri.
