In meinen englischsprachigen BDA (amerikanisches Englisch) steht überall Pairing....

Vielen Dank im Voraus

Kollegiale Grüße

English translation:Pairing
Explanation:
There are a number of UK hits for "pairing" both with and without Bluetooth references. My first example refers to a remote control for a door opener. The second example refers to pairing a Bluetooth phone.

Sorry about the "\\\" . Must be the result of funny coding in the original.

Example sentence(s):
  • The HE-106 will bleep twice to indicate that the remote control is paired to the HE-106
  • Although Bluetooth has always been pretty useful for me, especially when I\\\\\\\'m streaming audio wirelessly, it\\\\\\\'s still a pain to have to pair my Stereo Bluetooth headset with every new phone I have or have to pair two phones first before I coul

agree  Scorpio107 (X): When you look at the word cellphone, American English, British English= Mobile phone. That's what is happening all over the world. americanisms entering other languages. ;-)

agree  Lancashireman: Looks like this hi-tech English term has even managed to cross the Atlantic to Merrie Olde England.

agree  Michael Sieger: Often used in the UK; e.g. a sky card has to be paired with the receiver

neutral  ajduby: You could be looking for "programmed". IR remotes use invisible light or heat pulses that represent specific binary codes which the device decodes to carry out a corresponding command.

Explanation:
With Bluetooth both devices must be paired to each other so they can communicate both ways, whereas when using a remote control the remote is actually programmed to speak the same language so the receiving device can understand the commands. It is a one way conversation compared to Bluetooth which is a two way conversation.
