Un rond de lumière

On this one I went with 'ray of light' which is not an exact translation but I felt worked here - it also evokes cinema because cinema is in fact a projected ray of light...

Thanks for all your help and I have noted to put in more context although looking back I generally put in a massive amount for the questions. Sorry about the lack here.

I take it it's de là où il se trouve.
And désigner un rond de lumière does not appear to refer to offering a light or putting someone in the (spot/lime) light but rather "pointing out a circle of light" to them, whatever that might be supposed to mean. Is there no more context, in the fullest sense, elsewhere in the document, that might .... er, shed light on this?
Or maybe it's il désigne,[comma] aux (in the sense of pour) les autres, ..., so we're looking at "for others he is / represents a circle of light" - again, whatever that means; but I can imagine loads of "role model", "target to strive to equal", etc. meanings.

Context: Eastwood, lui, sait depuis longtemps qu'il est engage sur le chemin inverse. Mais de la ou il trouve, il désigne aux autres un rond de lumière.

Altgough he is moving towards his own death, he is offering 'un rond de lumiere' for those ounger than him starting out. (his last film) ps sorry some of th accents are missing here.
