Conform dictionarului Italian -roman-Ed. a III-a 2004 ,am gasit verbul petere =a cere ( inv) , iar substantivul petente = petitionar .

DEX 1996) – (o evaluare corectă a) ambientului (în care minorul va fi găzduit); (limba pe care) petenţii (o cunosc mai bine), GR, 2002, nr. 6, p. 3, col. 3.

ho detto che termine °petente° non esiste in nessun dizionario italiano, sia convenzionale che di terminologia e che sarebbe una forma arcaica che ono si usa più. Questa referenza è di un dizionario italaiano-inglese e a volte dizionari di tal tipo includono lemmi in disuso. Dalla mia esperienza tutta la documentazione che ho tradotto fin ora ha riportato il termine richiedente....

Explanation:
Fiind vorba de o sentinta civila, sensul este de reclamant, persoana care cere ceva in fata unei autoritati (judecatoresti, administrative). Este sinonim cu petitionar.
Poate fi folosit si termenul de "querelante" (in traduceri efectuate in Romania am vazut ca il folosesc in sentintele civile), dar are mai degraba un sens penal.
