Un mouvement latéral ou pendulaire crée des boucles de courant qui génèrent des forces électromagnétiques (substantielles ?) qui contrent le mouvement...

Il est étonnant que l'auteur associe les termes "resulting" et "consequent", s'il ne voulait dire que résultant tout seul... peut-être utilise-t-il le terme consequent comme en français conséquent (substantielles, importantes...) Cf le second lien...

alors que dans la seconde phrase
"Loads shall be combined conservatively in order for the consequent total load to be most severe".

il utilise bien "consequent" dans son premier sens,
résultant...
