"The term credit event is defined in broader terms than simply a bond default of the relevant reference entity. It can include, for example, an extension of the repayment date of a loan or a decrease in the rate of interest payable on such loan. Therefore, the holder of a CLN can suffer a loss due to a credit event even though a traditional bond default did not occur. This means that the probability of a credit event is higher than the probability of a bond default."

Reference information:
"Bond" översätts ofta borgensförbindelse, säkerhet eller garanti. "Default" syftar sannolikt på en händelse som utlöser utbetalning av borgensförbidelsen.

Tittar man i J G Sanders så står det "nödlidande obligation", men jag tycker det är en dålig översättning.
