This is in a teacher/lecturer's CV. I thought I'd already heard of teaching engineering but the only hits I can get now refer to the teaching of engineering. Help.

another suggestion. Appears in both Termium and GDT.

A lot of references on the web but I'll draw your attention to just a few :

someone's CV on Linkedin : http://fr.linkedin.com/in/alainvervoitte

another CV (see bottom of page 2) : http://www.escem.fr/Portals/57ad7180-c5e7-49f5-b282-c6475cdb...

the following article : Is the expression 'Instructional Engineering' justified ?

a bilingual abstract : http://www.ritpu.org/spip.php?article58

Finally, on this webpage someone called G. Paquette writes in French about ingénierie pédagogique and in English about 'instructional engineering' : http://www.lornet.ca/Publications/Thème2Ingénieriepédagogiqu...

Educational Management/Research

Explanation:
Lowish confidence level as I don't have the time to research the two terms and compare them with the French term, but these are both academic subjects in the study of education (pedagogy).

The problem is that the French term ingénierie has a slightly different and wider meaning than the English term and it does not always translate as engineering.

neutral  Steven Ritchie: Ingénerie Pédagogique refers, in business education, to the whole gamut of material, technical and human resources that are employed to facilitate the learning process. It's the overall management. Instructional design is specifically about course content
