disagree  kashew: Dear Amy, I didn't explain myself very well I'll admit. Apart from the "heavy" connotation (a personal thing) globes and garlands are all sorts of tree ornaments, together with the snow. 3 other answers agree with that.

bauble = a small, showy trinket or decoration; the word is almost exclusively used for the kind of Xmas decorations that go on trees.

tinsel = a form of decoration consisting of thin strips of shiny metal foil and which is the word always used for this kind of Xmas tree decoration.
