Spanish term or phrase: los más pequeños
This is talking about a game for younger kids (although ideally it is aimed at children of ages 8-12) so was a bit stuck and had just thought of either young people or children. I appreciate your suggestion, full text below thanks :)

that promotes helathy choices and fosters social values among young children.
Explanation:
Given the targeted age range that you state, "youngest children" would really not make sense (the "youngest", after all, would be a year or two old!). For the same reason, I don't think "very young children" would work either.

So I would just stick with "young children", which would seem to fit the age range you indicate.

Suerte. :)

The problem I see with "youngsters" here is that it it to general, as the term is often used to refer to teenagers as well. And adolescents are not part of the group of reference here.

for the youngest kids /for the youngest children

Explanation:
Usually in English with 'young' or 'old' you add another word. You can't just say 'the oldest' or 'the youngest' (but you can do it in Spanish and Italian!) :)

  • picture books for the youngest readers
  • The explosion of new media aimed at the youngest children
