French term or phrase: atmosphères
"
Term taken from a press review of a jazz album, it reads:C'est un album au son particulier, irrisé, envoûtant, plein d'atmosphères".
I was wondering how to best translate it considering it's in the plural form here.

rich in [contrasting] moods
Explanation:
I agree with the asker that the plural makes all the difference. "Contrasting is perhaps assuming too much, though the rest of the review will perhaps support it. Otherwise "varying", "shifting", etc. "Atmospheres" is the plural could be used.

Or as Arletty would put it, "Atmosphere, Est-ce que j'ai une gueule d'atmosphere ?"

Googling "un changement d'atmosphère + musique" OR "differentes atmosphères" + musique, shows that the idea of music having different atmosphères is well-established. I think "mood" gets close to the idea.

atmospheric

Explanation:
You can use this adjective (or its synonym, "full of atmosphere") which works well in describing music, and without worrying about the plural, which I don't think is at all relevant (might even be a typo).

Asker: Yes, atmospheric is in fact what I had originally thought of as the best option. Thanks!

neutral  David Vaughn: "une autre atmosphere" gets 30000 googles, demonstrating amply that there can be different atmosphères - ie a plural

disagree  liz askew: This does not refer to the weather, but jazz.//It still makes no sense to me, as a native English speaker, particularly as this is not the meaning here in any case."full of climates" is a no-no, in anybody's book:)
