German term or phrase: authentisches Auftreten
Again, from a bullet point list of requirements that must be met by candidates for a job.

"looks the part" springs to mind but can't be used in this formal context. Confident demeanour perhaps?

genuine/authoritative/bona fide appearance/behavior

Explanation:
there's a slight difference b/w authentic and genuine, but you may want to consider it anyway. Other options: authoritative or boda fide, or even real or trustworthy.

"Stage presence" for Auftreten in certain contexts.

Explanation:
Sollte es sich hier um einen Unterpunkt fuer Unternehmerkompetenz bei einem z.B. Assessment Center handeln, wuerde ich eher aktiv formulieren, da es um beobachtbares Verhalten geht:

appears anstelle von Appearance
authentic wuerde ich entweder als authentisch belassen (dasselbe Wort existiert schliesslich in beien Sprachen), oder als believable uebersetzen.

agree  Ingrid Velleine: "Poise" seems like the most suitable translation - the opposite of looking tense or fake; it does not entail credibility, but simply that someone looks like he knows what he is doing.

agree  Paul Cohen: Perhaps 'exudes credibility', if that's not too OTT. 'Auftreten' covers more than just a person’s inherent qualities -- it also has to do with how an individual ‘comes across’ to others. A literal translation would be 'comes across as authentic'.

straightforward and down-to-earth

Explanation:
In my opinion, there are two elements involved in these "authentic dealings with others": one is being honest, frank and open (not a bull****ter); the other is being a practical realist (someone who comes across in a way people can relate to and understand)
