Asker: Yes! Of course! How did I not see that? It was based on the english pronunciation of maître d'hotel, not the french (slaps forehead)... Thank you so much.

  -> Hello cinefil-san!! (この前はお逢いできて嬉しかったです!) Although the French pronunciation would correctly be メートル(・ド・テル), we also "borrow" that name in English, however we (mistakenly) pronounce it メトラディ(ー) or sometimes even worse than that, such as "メイターD"
