In order to assess the risk, insert in the questionnaire:
• if you are using dip slides. Dipslides are a cheap (~1€) fast (48h) and reliable way to determine the aerobic bacteria concentration. The same testing method is usually recommended for water system, namely as indirect control systems for legionella risk (please check chapther 5, of guideline for managing legionella risk in water sampling). Dipslides consist of plastic paddles with cultur media on each site. After immersing the slide into the liquid for a few seconds and allowing the excess liquid to drain, the dipslide should be placed in an incubator for 24-48h. After incubation, it will be possible to compare the dipslide surface against the appropriate chart to obtain the bacteria count.
