Italian term or phrase: acquisizioni temporali
Here's the context:
"È nata così l’idea di realizzare all’interno della struttura tre mostre che, tra il 2007 ed il 2010, presentassero, nel rispetto delle **acquisizioni temporali**, il meglio dei capolavori di proprietà della collezionista americana Peggy Guggenheim."
I guess it's really "temporali" that's giving me grief. Could it be something like schedule or time frame...?

the dates of acquisition

Explanation:
You may want to word it differently, but, I would say that this is clearly the idea. They would like a retrospect of the best that is in the collection based on the dates of acquisition by P.G.

temporary housings

Explanation:
I think they mean that these masterpieces haven't been acquired by this art museum in a definitive way, but they're housed there only during these three exhibitions held from 2007 to 2010, to be brought back to the owner after then.

And from the part "nel rispetto delle acquisizioni temporali, il meglio di...", it's kind of you could interprete that they might have tried to realize an extraordinarily "rich" set up for these exhibitions... as if they'd effectively "bought" those art works to open some "permanent" exhibitions in their museum.

(Sorry if I'm making mistakes, I don't write in English as often as in Italian : (

acquisitions for temporary exhibitions

Explanation:
It speaks to me of items purchased for temporary exhibitions (as opposed to permanent collections) so I wondered whether something like this might work.
