Het is denk ik een soort houder met breukbeveiliging voor een voeler (meettaster). Met deze voeler kan de positie van bijvoorbeeld een spindel ten opzichte van het werkstuk worden bepaald.
Via Google heb ik de Duitse en Engelse handleiding van dit apparaat teruggevonden en op de Nederlandse site van het betreffende bedrijf heb ik vervolgens het woord stylus gevonden (zie ook links).
