Marketing - Other / expo-agro brochure
Spanish term or phrase: prospectó clientes
En un brochure de una expo-agro, comenta sobre los resultados de la expo anterior y dice asi:
el 70% de los expositores prospectó clientes

Tengo entendido que PROSPECTAR significa, buscar e identificar clientes calificados; determinar quiénes son y confirmar que tienen una necesidad y un interés inicial por nuestros productos o servicios

¿Existe algun término en inglés para esto? Mil gracias de antemano.

Another possibility. "Found clients" would also be acceptable depending on the tone.

engaged in efforts to secure clients

Explanation:
This is how I would put it. "Prospecting" is a term that seems to be used frequently in English, but not, apparently, the verb "to prospect."

Suerte.

According to the definition in the *Gran Diccionario General de la Lengua Espanola*, "prospectar" only refers to *efforts* to search for clients; it does not imply that one has actually *obtained* clients.

disagree  philgoddard: Surely they were all engaging in efforts to secure clients, otherwise they wouldn't be there.
