Explanation:
A deferral is a payment holiday, in German "Stundung", "Ausgesetzte Zahlungen". I am still assuming a banking system, thus "Kontrakte". "Verträge" would be unusual.

Will this go into a computer system? Or is the chart only a reference document? If it is supposed to go into a system, check with your client, whether field lengh is limited. We had problems with the fields being just long enough for the English text and had to use abbreviations to squeeze all the German in. (By rule of thumb we tried not to let the German run longer than the English).

Hans/Marion, the only contracts that popped up in our system were labeled "Kontrakte", otherwise go with "Verträge" - I am thinking about loans contracts which are in German also labeled "Kontrakte", but more often "Verträge" (Definition on a lending site: http://www.finanzinform.de/lexikon/1371/Kontrakt.html). The "Travel - Deferred Contract" I see as when a staff member has to travel in relation to a non-perfoming loan (negotiation with borrower, court dates, etc.), meaning this could be again offset in the P&L as a loss. I'd go with "Reisekosten - Gestundete Kontrakte" (or Verträge)

Bei Hybridkapital werden anscheinend auch Kontrakte gestundet: ftp://ftp.zew.de/pub/zew-docs/dp/dp08003.pdf, although Marion is right not a large number of hits.

Asker: I am uneasy about Birgit's suggestion, since I find very little Google support for it. Maybe this helps - the term appears under the travel expense section ("Travel - Deferred Contract"). I'm still at a loss on this one.

neutral  Hans G. Liepert: Wo ist der Begriff schon mal aufgetaucht? Man kann Beträge (Forderungen usw) stunden, aber doch keine Kontrakte // Es kann ein e Stundung der Kreditbeträge vereinbart werden, aber nicht des Vertrags - oder ist das bei Deiner Bank anders?

  -> Bei Kreditverträgen kann z.B. eine Stundung/Aussetzung der Zahlungen vereinbart werden, wenn z.B. der Kreditnehmer vorübergehend knapp bei Kasse ist.
