Yes, it's ugly English. I guess you could imagine it in a Kafka novel - You have been informed! - of what? - The information!

I was hesitant about whether the convict was informed of their rights -- and rightly so -- in a proposed amendment to vyhláška č. 543/2005 Z. z., o Spravovacom a kancelárskom poriadku pre okresné súdy, Section 59, I found this:

(3) Výrok rozsudku sa uvádza slovom "rozhodol:" a odôvodnenie slovom "Odôvodnenie", ktoré sa píšu v strede strany riedeným a hrubo zvýrazneným písmom. Poučenie o opravnom prostriedku sa uvádza slovom "Poučenie:", ktoré sa píše na ľavej strane strany riedeným a hrubo zvýrazneným písmom.

So the instruction could be the convict's sentence ... sort of the opposite of a right.

Just for fun, in the second link below the instructions usually do refer to the convict's rights.

Asker: In this context I am pretty sure it is the rights of the prisoner - it goes on to say '... a o pravných dôsledkoch odsúdeného na výkon trestu odňatia svobody do cudziny'. Basically he is being returned to the UK to serve out his sentence there. Thank you for going to so much trouble - it is much appreciated!
