French term or phrase: détails au 1/50ème
THis is quite a broad question about how to translate numbers/scales of this type
Here are some examples from the architectural contrcat I am translating:
"Details au 1/50ème"
"Plans des différents niveaux, coupes, élévations de l'ouvrage à l'echelle de 1/100ème"
In both these examples should I translate it as "with a scale of 1/50" "with a scale of 1/100"
Sadly I was hopeless at maths at school

"details au 1/50ème"
details with the scale of 1/50 (one to fifty)

Explanation:
Means that one unit measured at the drawing corresponds to 50 units measured at the site.

I call your attention for the units. If it´s a construction and european details, the units are measured in centemeters. Beaware that centimeters must be conversed to inches if the project read or built at the U.K., for exemple.
If it´s a metalurgic plan, the units are always in milimeters.

neutral  B D Finch: No conversion to inches for the UK - we haven't used inches for this sort of tech. application for donkey's years.
