Spanish term or phrase: sección genérica / sección específica
These two headings appear in a birth certificate from Colombia. The 'sección genérica' contains the child's name . date of birth, and where the child was born. The 'sección específica' contains information about the facility where the child was born, doctor's name, and the names and information about the parents.

I can translate this as 'generic section' and 'specific section' and it would be good enough, I think (these answers have already been given in a previous - 2004 - KudoZ question), but I'm wondering if there are any more specific or precise English terms I could use for these two headings this time around.

Gracias por la ayuda :)

"Generic" dose mean "general," in certain contexts, as I think it does here.

Muchas gracias, femme. I think this does give a good alternative to the more direct translation.

agree  brooksa: I like the substitution of "general" for "generic". However, perhaps the word "details" better describes "información específica"
