English term or phrase: breath in pants
I was breathing in pants, trying to get enough air into my lungs to satisfy their craving, but I managed to catch snatches of it anyway.

neutral  Lydia De Jorge: If the original specifically states 'breathing in pants' (panting), why omit it?
22 mins
-> I guess because to pant for breath means: intentar recuperar el aliento
